Information You Choose to Send
Search Terms
A name, place, or other term entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Kauaʻi County Busted Mugshots does not store or maintain a private log of those search terms on its own systems. The provider may have different collection and retention practices.
Messages and Requests
If someone sends an email or contact message, the message and reply details may be kept so the inquiry can be answered and records of the exchange can be maintained. That information is not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is legally required or needed to protect rights and safety. For an official booking record, use the KPD Records Section, not a private message to this resource.
Technical Data and Cookies
Standard server, analytics, and security systems may collect technical information when a page loads. That information can include:
- IP address or a shortened technical identifier;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on each page;
- the referring page, when available; and
- timestamps and basic connection details.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the pages, keep a service working, or support advertising and search features. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some parts of the experience may behave differently when those tools are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- to keep the pages available, secure, and reasonably fast;
- to send a search request to the partner service selected for that tool;
- to learn which Kauaʻi record topics are useful;
- to identify errors, abuse, and technical failures; and
- to display advertising that may be relevant to general interests.
Usage information is not a replacement for an official record. The KPD Arrest Log, DCR SAVIN, and Hawaiʻi Judiciary maintain their own systems and policies.
Links to Other Services
Pages link to police records, KPD arrest reports, DCR and KCCC information, court portals, federal locators, news outlets, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices govern. Kauaʻi County Busted Mugshots does not control the availability, tracking, security, or content of an outside service.
Some advertising partners may observe activity across different sites to help deliver interest-based ads. That tracking takes place on the partner’s systems, not as a promise that this resource can see or control every outside event.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone mailing list. Depending on how a visitor uses the pages, information may be handled by:
- search partners that receive entered queries;
- analytics and measurement providers;
- advertising networks and their service vendors; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order or other lawful demand requires disclosure.
Official requests about KPD records should go to the agency through its own form and process. A private message here does not create a KPD, DCR, or court filing.
Security Has Limits
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures are used to reduce unauthorized access and protect information handled by this resource. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however. There is no promise that a system will be free from every breach, attack, error, or interruption.
People Under 18
The pages are intended for adults and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Hawaiʻi law also protects juvenile police and court information. If a minor has sent personal data through a message, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us route to request its review or deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal information held about that person;
- correct inaccurate contact information;
- request deletion of information that can lawfully be removed; or
- opt out of certain processing, cookies, or communications where an available control permits it.
A request about a government arrest, booking, or court record must be sent to the originating agency. Privacy choices here cannot alter a KPD, DCR, or Fifth Circuit record.
Policy Changes
This policy may be revised when the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. A new version becomes effective when posted on this page, with an updated effective date when appropriate. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply to later use.
