About This Site

Kauaʻi County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource for finding the official place where an arrest, booking, custody, or court record lives. It brings together KPD’s countywide arrest log, KPD Records request path, State DCR and KCCC information, Hawaiʻi Judiciary records, and the local news landscape. It does not host a mugshot gallery. The purpose is to make the difference between a live custody question, an old arrest record, and a later court disposition easier to understand.

Why This Resource Exists

Hawaiʻi public-record rules make many arrest and booking records accessible, but the source depends on the question. KPD creates the county arrest entry and handles police-record requests. KPD’s daily PDF is a chronology rather than a full photo roster. DCR operates Kauaʻi Community Correctional Center and supplies the SAVIN/VINELink custody-notification route. The Fifth Circuit holds the public court path after booking. A selective KPD press release may contain a booking photo, while an ordinary report may not.

This resource places those official paths beside the custody labels that matter: just booked at KPD, transferred after court, released, in DCR custody, or held by a federal or immigration agency. The source links include the Kauaʻi Police Department, KPD Records Section, and Fifth Circuit contact page. No official record is stored here.

What Visitors Can Find

The material is organized around official access and plain-language limits. The links below point to the parts of the county record trail that answer different questions.

  • The home page explains Kauaʻi County busted mugshots, KPD’s arrest-log fields and release codes, records requests, UIPA, expungement, DCR custody, court dispositions, and federal locators.
  • Sheriff’s Most Wanted explains why Kauaʻi has dated KPD wanted notices rather than a verified permanent roster and how to report information safely.
  • Mugshots in the News maps The Garden Island, Kauaʻi Now, Hawaiʻi News Now, official releases, and the limited third-party landscape.
  • The Kapaʻa, Līhuʻe, and Wailua Homesteads pages explain how each CDP routes back to countywide KPD systems.
  • Records-request steps identify the KPD form, required details, the current fee uncertainty, and the difference between KPD, DCR, and court custodians.

The city pages are geographic routing pages. Hawaiʻi has no incorporated places recognized by the Census Bureau, so the place labels should not be read as separate municipal police jurisdictions.

What This Resource Cannot Do

Kauaʻi County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It has no connection to KPD, the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Judiciary, the Hawaiʻi Sheriff Division, or any other government body. It cannot release a person, confirm a live custody status, post bond, arrange a visit, submit a records request for someone else, or provide legal advice.

  • It cannot change an arrest entry, remove a court record, or issue an expungement order.
  • It cannot guarantee that a phone number, address, fee, page, or public report remains current.
  • It cannot turn a selective KPD press release into a complete photo roster.
  • It cannot treat a news story or an unofficial aggregator as a final disposition.

Only the originating agency, DCR, or the court can confirm the official status for its record. Use the links as routes, then verify the answer with that office.

Search Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search boxes supplied by outside providers. Those providers set their own pricing, terms, results, and data practices. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, a referral fee may be paid to help keep this resource available. The referral relationship does not make the outside provider a government office, and it does not give the resource control over the provider’s search or records.

The official KPD, DCR, Judiciary, and records-request links remain the primary paths for Kauaʻi information. The search partner is separate from those agencies and should be evaluated on its own terms.
